Back, sack and crack waxing and what's included in the treatment

The classic back sack and crack wax, which is more commonly referred to as the BSC wax generally only included the small of the back (the patch above the sacrum), the butt crack and the penis and scrotum wax.

However some therapists/ salons that offer the back sack and crack wax often include a full back wax and also the butt cheeks.

As with all male intimate waxing treatments the names vary and also what’s included in each treatment may vary so it’s always worth checking that the male intimate waxing treatment you book is the one that you require.

I find that the back sack and crack wax is often a popular choice for my male waxing clients. My BSC includes a full back and shoulder wax combined with the choice of a male Brazilian or a male Hollywood waxing treatment.

I have given all my male intimate waxing treatments their own unique name and on my website if you hold the mouse on the treatment name a window will open which will clearly explain what’s included in each treatment and also the method of waxing that will be used for each particular treatment.
Previously I found that clients would often book in for a BSC wax and when they arrived for their appointment they actually did not require a back wax they just referred to a BSC wax as a general term for a male intimate waxing treatment.

The BSC waxing treatment is called an “Essex Road “ wax and the price is slightly cheaper when booked as a combined treatment than if you booked a back and shoulder wax and a male Brazilian wax or a male Hollywood wax.

So if its a sack and crack wax, a male Brazilian wax or just the bikini line check out our male intimate waxing price list we offer an extensive range of male waxing options and you should find a treatment that suits.

The waxing procedure is very easy and straightforward when carrying out any of the male intimate waxing treatments; you will be required to get on all fours to have the inside of the butt waxed to ensure the area is completely hair free. Non strip waxes and excellent waxing techniques ensure a more comfortable intimate waxing treatment. I specialise in male Brazilian waxing treatments so you are guaranteed an efficient , comfortable and professional male waxing treatment.

As with all male intimate waxing treatments if clients follow the male waxing aftercare guidelines then the skin will settle down quickly and the aftercare will help clients manage to keep skin clean, smooth and to avoid any breakout or possible ingrown hairs. Click here to see our male waxing aftercare guidelines that we recommend to all our clients

Easy Nostril Waxing As Part of Your Male Grooming - Free for all new clients!

Nostril waxing for men is a very popular male grooming treatment and you will be surprised just how much hair that a little blob of wax can remove...

Often new clients think that it’s going to be a very painful procedure but it’s so much more comfortable than plucking a few nasal hairs with a pair of tweezers. If you tweeze one hair it’s really quite uncomfortable but when you wax and remove all these hairs in one go its fairly painless.

We apply a little drop of jasmine oil to the nostril this creates a lipid barrier to ensure the process is more comfortable then a small amount of non strip/ hot wax is applied to the base of the nostril and scraped across to create a little handle. As the wax sets we press your nostril together so that the wax grips all sides and all of the hairs are embedded in the wax.

Please note that we don’t push wax up into the nostrils or we don’t leave any spatulas inside the nostrils, the hairs up inside the nostril are there for a purpose and we are only removing the unsightly hairs at the base and not any of the other nostril hair.

We have a face waxing package that includes a nostril wax, ear waxing and a brow wax tidy up , this is a very popular male grooming treatment and it’s amazing how removing these hairs and tidying up bushy brows can take a few years off and leave you looking fresh and groomed!

As part of our new client package we offer the choice of a free nostril wax or an ear waxing treatment.

Give it a try you will be surprised how clean and tidy you feel afterwards and how easy it is to wax.

How to treat ingrown hairs after waxing

For most of us we have at some point had an ingrown hair and unfortunately some people can suffer really badly with these.   An ingrown hair is when the new hair curls back on itself and starts to grow  back into the hair follicle, or a hair that does not grow out of the hair follicle and actually remains embedded in the skin.

Ingrown hairs can affect most areas; the face, neck, legs, intimate areas or in fact any part of the body.

In most situations they are usually just a minor irritation on the skin, but if they are left untreated they can be very painful or unsightly. More importantly if they are not dealt with then they can become infected.

Unfortunately, while ingrown hair is more common with people having thick, curly hair, almost everybody will get one at some point and if you shave regularly, you may have to deal with ingrown hairs and razor bump quite frequently.

Some clients who wax can also experience ingrown hairs and it is important to treat these properly and do as much as you can to prevent them. Often areas like the chest and pubic areas can be more prone to ingrown hairs if aftercare guidelines are not followed correctly.

There are several ways that you can treat ingrown hairs and if you suffer with these one if these methods may help to treat the ingrown hairs.

1. Gentle exfoliation – Gently really is the name of the game here. I recommend that you use either a gentle exfoliation cream or a scrub product directly on the skin, or you can use an exfoliating wash cloth or a pair of mitts with an anti bacterial skin wash. I do find a loofah too rough on the skin. Exfoliate twice a day in the shower and if you are exfoliating gently enough you should be able to just “nudge “the hair so that it can release itself. Be careful not to exfoliate too roughly as you don’t want to break and cut the skin as this will cause scabs to form and this will make it really difficult then for the hair to get through the skin.  I find that the Bit of Rough exfoliating washcloth is perfect as its gentle on the skin but just rough enough to left the dead skin cells.

2. Applying an ingrown hair product -There are many products available on the market for the treatment of ingrown hairs and if you research on the internet you can see which ones are available and often read reviews for these. Also most therapists who offer waxing will often retail or recommend a product that can be used for the treatment of ingrown hairs. Products containing Salicylic acid are often the best and can be applied to the skin a few times a day for the recommended period; also the Salicylic acid will soothe the inflammation.  If you combine this with gentle exfoliation and keeping the skin as clean as possible then should help to remove the ingrown hairs. Some clients have found that the application of Magnesium Sulphate and left overnight has also helped to lift the hair out of the skin.

3. Teasing out the hair – If you managed to get the ingrown hair to the surface then you should be able to get it out. Take a warm flannel or some cotton pads with hot water and press them on the skin and the heat will gently soften the skin. You will need to do this several times and apply the compress with hot water. This will bring the hair to the surface and now you should be able to actually tease the hair out of the skin. Use a pair of clean sterile tweezers that will lift the hair. Take care that you don’t break the skin and remove the hair with the tweezers in the direction of growth taking care not to snap or cut the hair. Keep the skin clean and a little medicated cream applied to the area will soothe and treat the skin surrounding the hair.

With all these things prevention is so much better than cure , so follow the waxing aftercare guidelines and for most people this help to avoid ingrown hairs from developing.

New Male Grooming Treatments

I have recently discovered a really fantastic skincare range that I am going to add to my treatments over the next few months.

It’s the Eve Taylor aromatherapy skin care range which is a professional skincare brand that is paraben free and using only natural aromatherapy products and the best range of plant essences.  Eve Taylor has over four decades of skincare experience so you can be sure that your skin will get the best quality product range.

I shall be using the Eve Taylor pre blended  massage oils for all my aromatherapy massage treatments and as part of my Signature massage treatment I shall be using the Eve Taylor candles and the warm Soya wax can be massaged directly onto the body and I shall include this within my reflex massage. The warm massage oil combined with the aroma of the burning candle creates a really relaxing aromatherapy treatment.

I shall also be offering the range as part of my facial treatments that I provide within my male grooming service at the moment I provide a basic range of facial treatments but I shall soon be providing a selection of Mechanical facial treatments including Galvanic facials and a range of others. Details of the new range will follow shortly with details of the promotion to introduce the range to my service. Like all skincare ranges there is a product that suits all skin types and a range of suitable face masks to offer the best possible treatment and to achieve the best results for the various skin types.

The Eve Taylor range will also be used as part of my men’s spa treatments with a great new salt and seaweed body scrub being added to the treatments.

I am currently rebranding my website with new logo and streamlining all the websites into one site offering all the treatments and also there will be a blog page that will be focusing only on male waxing aftercare so hopefully this will be helpful for new clients to refer to for tips on how to maintain their skin after waxing.

Male Waxing In London - Summer Chest Waxing

Male waxing in London

Chest Waxing for the summer – What’s included within your Treatment

With more and more guys following the trend to wax their chests either  as a pre holiday wax treatment or as part of a regular male grooming regime I want to explain the chest waxing treatment, offer some good practice pre and aftercare guidelines and look at some of the best ways to avoid a break out...

Chest hair is generally fairly deep rooted hair, close to the heart so nice strong hair follicles with a rich blood supply, and often seen as a more uncomfortable male waxing treatment as opposed to the back waxing or other men’s body areas.

It’s not uncommon for virgin waxers to have an initial reaction after their first chest wax, with small bumps and redness, this can be normal for a lot of guys, and generally within a few days the chest settles down again. I find that clients who take anti histamine, for a day before their waxing and a few days after seem to manage the reaction a lot better. I have a lot of clients who wax their chests and a lot of these clients find that the anti histamine has helped.

I generally trim longer chest hair first before I begin any waxing, and then cleanse the skin before applying a small amount of pre waxing oil, the oil allows the wax to cling to the hair and not to the skin, and makes the hair removal on the chest so much more comfortable.

For most of my chest waxing treatments I use two waxing methods, I apply non strip waxes on certain areas, and then I also use strip waxes on other parts. I find that some parts of the chest can be more sensitive so the non strip waxes work better in those parts.

The strip wax used is a hypoallergenic wax so this will minimise the reaction on the skin. I never use a roller waxing method on this area, as I find that it can drag and can be slightly uncomfortable for the clients ( in my opinion I find that for male waxing roller systems work best on the legs and on the back only).

At the end of a chest wax, after I have used Jasmine oil and cleansers, I then apply a mixture of a refreshing aloe Vera gel mixed with some tea tree after waxing moisturiser to soothe the chest area.

As with all waxing procedures clients need to avoid touching the area and to keep the skin clean and cool. If clients are coming straight from work to their appointment it’s often best if they can bring a clean cotton loose fitting t-shirt to change into at the end of the treatment.

Aftercare guidelines really do need to be followed, and during the treatment I will discuss these in detail with the client, and I will follow this up with an aftercare pack, which also includes written after care notes.

If guys follow the aftercare guidelines they generally can manage to keep the skin smooth and can generally avoid a break out in this area.

I retail several products that can assist with the maintenance programme and I can also often recommend alternatives that can be purchased on the high street. Often with male waxing, for the chest and for any part of the body, if you follow the basic aftercare guidelines, keeping skin clean , cool , and then following an exfoliation programme you can keep the skin clear, smooth and looking good...

Male Waxing London  – Treatment Procedures & Waxing Product Range

Male waxing London is one of the most popular men’s grooming treatments.

At Jack Dunn Male Grooming Studio our aim is to offer one of the best male waxing services in London using excellent quality products, professional protocols, whilst offering a value for money treatment list....

To achieve our goal we use the best wax on the market to offer you the best in client comfort and one of the best waxing experiences. New generation waxes offer superior waxing treatments.

I offer two waxing methods; strip waxing and non strip waxes and I also use a range of the hypoallergenic waxes to ensure the most comfortable male waxing treatment for clients with sensitive skin types.

I use non strip waxing methods for the sensitive areas and intimate waxing treatments including; ears, nostrils, neck, brows, underarms, and also for all my male intimate waxing treatments. Male intimate waxing treatments should only be carried out using non strip wax as other waxing methods can be very uncomfortable in these sensitive areas. Some clients prefer non strip wax (also known as hot wax) for back and chest waxing treatments and we have also included this within the treatment list as an option.

I offer a men’s full body waxing service, from the popular male back wax to the intimate male Brazilian waxing and everything in between and to make the booking process really easy we have given each of these waxing treatments a name and a description of what’s included so you can book the correct intimate waxing treatment.

For full body waxing just use our treatment list and decide which areas you want to book and email us with your list of areas that you wish to include (some clients exclude certain areas so this way you only pay for the waxing you require). For clients that book a full body wax that includes everything from the brows to the toes we provide a free luxury aftercare pack which includes A Bit of Rough wash cloth, tea tree skin wash and a after wax body moisturiser.

Male intimate waxing is known by many terms including; male Brazilian waxing, male Hollywood waxing, Boyzilian, BSC waxing (back, sack and crack waxing) and every salon or therapist often use various names so it often becomes very confusing for clients. All my male intimate waxing treatments have a unique name so booking your treatment will be really easy.

As no two guys have the same amount of hair on areas like the back or the chest and I believe a range of treatment options offers the best value for money. So I offer a range of back waxing options so you can include as much or as little hair removal.

Clients will be required to complete a confidential consultation form on arrival, and your waxing treatment procedure will be explained in detail. At the end of the first waxing treatment, all new clients will be given a free male waxing aftercare pack, which will include written aftercare guidelines, a disposable exfoliating mitt, and some suitable aftercare cream.

We also retail a range of post waxing skincare products to assist you with your male grooming and maintenance/ waxing aftercare, these products can be purchased here at the studio.

Gift vouchers are also available to purchase.

The Truth about Male Intimate Waxing

The Truth about Male Intimate Waxing

Women used to be the primary market for waxing. However, recently more and more men are interested in getting male waxing treatments. Waxing for men is getting prominence because wax is more suitable for hard to remove male hairs. The beard is one facial hair that requires waxing. When a man waxes the beard, there is no unsightly stubble left behind. Typically there are two types of waxing that men avail of: general body waxing and male intimate waxing.

A general body wax treatment is when the person has the hair in the back, face and chest removed by the therapist. Intimate waxing is when hair removal is done on the genitals area particularly the pubic hair. When it comes to a male intimate wax treatment, there are certain issues associated with the procedure.

The new techniques and new generation non-strip waxes used for the treatment can help make the client feel comfortable and relaxed. It is not as painful as it used to be. And the results are quick. After it is done, hairs are effectively removed. It is easy to see the difference before and after the procedure.

Male intimate waxing involves removing hair in the genitals and private areas. This may include the butt, pubic area, shaft, scrotum, crack and perineum. To get the best results, it is important to wax when the hair has grown at least 0.25 inches long. The treatment removes the hair from the roots not just on the surface. This is why it takes longer for the hair to grow back compared to ordinary shaving. It usually takes up to 8 weeks for the hair to grow again.

During the eight weeks, the client does not need to do shaving or trimming at all. Also, once the hairs grow back, the texture is usually much finer than before. The skin where the hair is removed also appears smoother. The reason for this is that the wax removes not just the hair roots but the dead skin cells as well. And since the client is not using a razor blade to remove the hair, the chances of getting cuts or skin irritation are reduced considerably. This is why a lot of men prefer to get male waxing treatments nowadays.

As with all intimate wax treatments, it is important to remove all clothes so the therapist can reach the private parts easily. There are different male intimate wax styles that the client can choose from such as Hollywood style, Brazilian style and back-sac-crack (BSC) style. The most common treatment is the Brazilian style. This style requires removal of hair in the middle and butt but retain some on the pubic mound.

The male Hollywood waxing treatment is when the therapist removes all hair in the private parts including pubic triangle and the crease of leg. The back-sac-crack style, as the name implies, removes hair starting from the back, then the shaft, crack and butt. The choice of style depends on what the client prefers. Also many therapists have different names for the male intimate waxing treatments so it’s often best to check which treatment you require and confirm it’s the correct choice.

One particular issue involved with intimate male waxing procedure is when a client gets an erection in the middle of the treatment. This is a potentially embarrassing situation both for the client and the therapist. But seasoned therapists know for a fact that erection could likely occur during these intimate procedures. The reason for this is that erection is an adrenal response to physical touch. It is not exactly a sexual reaction but more of hyperactive adrenaline.

An experienced therapist recognizes that this is a possibility that could occur among male clients. Usually, the therapist would ignore the incident and continue with the treatment as if nothing is going on. The erection will go away in due time. The therapist does not get offended because they know that it is a normal male reaction. Also, it could be the excitement brought about by the experience which brought the reaction. The therapist training and confidence in handling such potentially embarrassing situation is the key to defuse the situation. The therapist should be professional enough to be able to work through the issue.

After the male waxing treatment, it is important for the client to wear clean loose clothing to prevent irritation. The skin is a little more sensitive after the procedure. The aftercare when the treatment is over require that the client refrain from taking hot baths or going into saunas and steam baths. Gently exfoliation of the skin with an exfoliating product three times a week during shower can also help prevent ingrown hairs. Using a skin moisturizer in the area can also keep the skin supple and the new hairs to grow normally.

Waxing Versus Sugaring For Male Grooming Treatments

Male hair removal methods have certainly evolved through the years. Gone are the days when men used a shaving blade to remove hair in different parts of their body. The advances in technology help male grooming become safer, healthier, faster and more convenient to do.

Men remove body hair for a variety of reasons. One is to improve their appearance. Women often do not like hairy men especially if a thick mane grows out of the chest or the back. Hairs coming out of the nostrils or a bushy monobrow are also very unattractive to look at. For men who are into sports such as swimming, getting pubic hair removed is almost a must since they look unsightly with Speedos and swimming trunks. Some men remove underarm hair for better grooming and to prevent body odour.

Male waxing and sugaring are two great examples of current male grooming techniques. These two hair removal methods have a number of similarities as well as differences when it comes to application. But they do serve the same purpose which is to get rid of unwanted man hair. An estimated third of the male population regularly do hair removal procedures in the back, chest, intimate areas, legs and other areas.

Waxing

Waxing for men, also called manscaping or more recently maxing, is a popular choice in salons or male grooming studios. Most men prefer to have a waxing treatment as opposed to some of the other temporary hair removal methods available because of the numerous advantages that waxing provides including:

Areas that have been waxed often remain hairless for at most eight weeks. The reason for this is because waxing removes hairs from the roots not just on the surface and for those clients who carry out regular body waxing benefit from a slower regrowth.

Smoother skin. Areas that are subjected to waxing often have smoother skin. The wax serves as natural exfoliant since it removes dead skin cells once the wax is removed. It not just uproots the hair but the dead cells on the skin too.

Softer hair. The hair that grows after waxing is usually much softer. Also, there are no signs of stubble after waxing unlike shaving.

Reduce skin irritation. Shaving may cause irritation to the skin especially if the blade touches sensitive parts. The person may have cuts and razor bumps from shaving. Not so with waxing.

Sugaring

Sugaring is another popular hair removal option. The sugaring mixture is made up of sugar, water and lemon juice. These ingredients are combined in a lukewarm temperature. They are then applied to the skin where unwanted hair grows. The technique originated in Egypt.

Sugaring for some male grooming clients offers the same benefits as listed above in terms of the appearance of the skin, the regrowth period and smoothness of the skin.

Some male clients are drawn towards sugaring as a suitable hair removal method if they have heat sensitive skin or react to the rosins found in a lot of waxes. However it is worth remembering that a lot of the good wax companies often offer a range of products that are rosin free to offer these clients a more comfortable waxing treatment with less trauma and better results on the skin.

,Waxing and sugaring are similar processes but they do have differences in the application and results and clients should research the best options for themselves.

Both methods of hair removal use a similar process  ; strip waxing and strip sugaring – applying the product directly to the skin and then removing with a paper strip or a piece of fabric.  Non -strip waxing and hand sugaring – applying hot wax or sugar paste directly to the hair and removing without the need for any paper or fabric.

More often male clients can have strong coarse body hair and with the waxing method it can offer a better hair removal technique for various reasons; the  “ shrink wrapping “  effect of hot wax can encapsulate even the smallest of hairs to ensure a smooth hair free result,  something that hand sugaring often cannot achieve.  New generation non-strip / hot waxes can also be applied successfully to areas where hair grows in various directions, sugaring often does not achieve best results in these areas.

Degree of discomfort. Both procedures require hair removal from the roots. This means a certain degree of pain or discomfort in both methods, but it is worth stating that for most clients this discomfort is minimal and if these treatments are carried out by a professional trained male grooming therapist as opposed to friends or partners then the difference is remarkable!! You only need to look on YouTube to see those terrible home waxing videos...

Waxing and sugaring may not be a permanent solution to male hair removal but they do provide a viable option for male grooming. The long duration before hair grows back makes them a popular choice among male clients. Both procedures are effective hair removal solutions.

Change Your Style Using Male Intimate Waxing

Years ago, the art of body waxing was usually reserved for women. Later on, escorts, bodybuilders and swimmers began to adopt it slowly. However, these days’ things have changed and many men from all walks of life have discovered and come to love this style.. This is a very safe and easy art of temporarily removing unwanted body hair. Generally the different waxing types include male full body waxing and male intimate waxing.

This technique is now a part of manscaping and grooming. It makes the man more attractive and more desirable. It does this by turning guys into metrosexual males. Metrosexual males appear enlightened, modern and sexy. They also appear stylish, educated, secure, cool and confident. Most guys now do it to please themselves because they have realized its benefits. On top of this, many of them would like to please their partners as many women love the feel and appearance of a hairless body.

This technique usually removes body hair from the roots. After the removal of the hair, it could take between three to six weeks to grow back. This is quite a long time during which a man appears well groomed. He does not also need to go through the time consuming and tiring task of shaving. When hair grows back it is smoother and nice to touch as its texture is finer.

Male intimate waxing is the latest trend in manscaping. This technique has become very popular among all types of men regardless of their profession. Some guys prefer to perform it on their own while others seek the services of qualified and experienced therapists. For best results, the hair in the pubic area should be at 0.25 inches long. It is also important for the client to make himself comfortable before the treatment by wearing loose clean clothing to prevent irritation.

The intimate waxing treatment involves removal of clothes in order to reach all the parts to be waxed. It is therefore important to be relaxed during the entire process. There are various styles to choose from depending on personal taste. The commonest style is the male  Brazilian wax. This style involves removal of hair from the intimate areas. It usually leaves some hair at the front of the genitals but remove all the hair in the middle and behind. There is also back-sac-crack style (BSC) where the hair is removed from the back, shaft, crack, butt, scrotum and perineum.

The other popular style is the Hollywood style. This style usually removes all the hair in the private parts. It involves removing all hair from the front, middle and back of the genitals. The parts that can be waxed using this method include the buttocks, penis, crease of the leg and pubic triangle among other parts.

Clients can have the treatment done by a professional therapist at a studio, salon or a spa. Professionals will make their clients feel relaxed and keep them as comfortable as possible due to their expertise and experience. They do this by using the appropriate techniques, products and tools. It is important to explain to the therapist the desired style for satisfactory results.

This type of male grooming has become so popular due to a number of reasons. Firstly, after the hair is removed the skin becomes smoother and softer to the touch. Guys also feel cleaner and fresher as the technique is hygienic. It is a safe technique that gets easier and even enjoyable after the first time.

This treatment also helps to bring out the metrosexual male. It does this by boosting the appearance, image and self confidence of the man. He also looks sexier and stylish which is something that many women love. His change of style can also help in improving his sexual relationship with his partner. Attracting the opposite sex also becomes easier.

Many men from all walks of life have decided to enjoy the benefits associated with long lasting hair removal from their private parts by adopting male intimate waxing. This is a hygienic and safe way of removing hair from the private parts. It boosts the appearance of the man, makes him sexier and boosts his self confidence.
