The Benefits Of Tea Tree for Male Waxing Aftercare

The Benefits of Tea Tree for Male Waxing Aftercare

Tea Tree oil is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia , which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Apparently it was first named Tea Tree by the expedition of Captain Cook, Banks and the Botanist Dr Solanger , who identified the Tea Tree plant and went on to name it when moored in Mercury Bay in 1769.

The oil has so many medical benefits when applied to the skin (topically), including antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral actions. It is more commonly found as an essential oil, but we can also find creams, lotions, shampoo, and soaps that all contain Tea Tree.

As with most essential oils, Tea Tree oil should never be used directly on the skin, and needs to be diluted, and usually in fairly small percentages, when you purchase waxing aftercare products most will specify the percentage of tea tree included, and the range seems to be within 1-5% on average. If you do intend to make up your own blend to use at home be careful that you do not exceed these amounts, and as always test patch on a small area first...

With lots of the leading wax manufacturers now increasing their range of male waxing aftercare products more of them are producing products that include tea tree oils, and soothing gels like Aloe Vera with packaging and design aimed at the male consumer.

After waxing the skin has been exposed to heat, with the application of the warm wax, the hair follicles have been removed so the importance of an excellent hygienic and soothing aftercare system is very important, to keep skin clean, to soothe , settle, and to avoid breakouts and possible ingrown hairs.

For first time male waxing clients, who often have no knowledge of aftercare or which products will work better for them, then the therapists really need to explain the best products to achieve a good problem free aftercare regime, having some samples available is a great way to get your clients used to the product and to see the benefits for themselves, and include a sample in their aftercare pack.

Most male waxing clients prefer an aftercare range that does not include perfumes and floral notes so for that reason the tea tree product range is great, and offering maximum protection in those first few weeks while the skin settles and the new hair growth starts.

As well as the waxing aftercare, Tea Tree products used during the waxing treatment is also very common, skin cleansers and sanitisers containing Tea Tree are used a lot, and often at the end of the waxing the therapist will apply some soothing lotion to the skin, and these often also contain cooling gels and Tea Tree oil.

If you are a regular waxing client or if it’s your first time to have a waxing treatment your aftercare regime is always important (exfoliation and moisturising) so get some Tea Tree based products and use these as part of your pack and you will achieve great results - Smooth problem free skin....

The ideal male waxing aftercare product range should include ; Tea Tree skin wash/ shower gel, and a body lotion with Tea Tree, and a Japanese wash cloth, and your regime should give you great results, each and every time....

Male Brazilian Waxing- What's Included in Your Treatment

If it’s your first time to book a male intimate waxing treatment you probably will not know what to expect and exactly how the treatment will be carried out... So hopefully this will clarify the procedure for your first male Brazilian waxing treatment.

Consultation-

All new clients need to complete a client consultation form; this is a simple tick list, with a list of conditions that your therapist needs to know so that they discuss any issues that could affect your treatment or if there are conditions that are contraindicated.

Insurance companies require all therapists to complete these forms and to maintain their client records. This information is confidential.

At this stage the treatment protocol should be explained including what is required from the client in terms of which items of clothing to remove, how long the treatment will take and the types of waxes and method of waxing that will be used during the treatment.

The client should be left in the treatment room, for a few minutes alone to undress, and ideally will be given some intimate wipes, so that they can freshen up and feel more comfortable for the treatment.

The Treatment

To begin with, the therapist needs to ascertain exactly what the client does require in terms of the amount of hair removal.

Often clients book a back sack and crack wax, or a male Hollywood waxing... and it’s probably only a male Brazilian waxing they actually want, but with so many terms and names out there we often get confused with the waxing terms, and also different therapists use a variety of names for their treatments, so clarify before you begin.

A full male Brazilian wax treatment generally takes 30-40 minutes to complete.

Each therapist has their own style and techniques that they use for their male intimate waxing procedures. I was trained in the UK by the best trainers in the industry and developed my procedures to offer an excellent Brazilian waxing service.

The best waxing method for male intimate waxing treatments is non strip waxes, this is when a thick honey like wax is applied directly to the area with a disposable spatula, the wax sets firmly, and it is removed quickly and swiftly by lifting the end and pulling of the hardened strip of wax.

No paper strips are used in this method.

The benefit of using this wax method is that there is no pressure applied directly to the area with paper strips, the wax sets and as it sets it shrink wraps the hair follicle so once removed the hair is embedded in the wax strip.

For intimate and for sensitive areas this method of waxing is much better.

The steps for the male Brazilian waxing treatment are as follows:

1. Cleanse the area using a skin sanitiser

2. Apply a light depilatory oil to the area

3. Blot with a tissue to remove excess oil

4. Apply the non strip wax- allow to set

5. Remove wax- apply pressure

6. Check all hair is removed

7. Blending of hair in surrounding areas

8. Apply after waxing products

A full male Brazilian wax should be completed in 30-40 minutes.

Male Waxing Aftercare Guidelines

Most new clients know very little about maintenance and the best way that they can maintain their freshly waxed skin. The best time to discuss aftercare is during the treatment, as you have their full attention and they can clarify any issues they don’t understand.

At the end of the treatment you need to follow up the aftercare with written notes, which should outline the best practice guidelines so they are very clear.

An aftercare pack often helps your client to get started on their regime, and it helps them understand the process. Include some suitable aftercare cream/ gels that will help to soothe the skin for their first day or so, and a disposable exfoliating mitt helps get their exfoliation of to a great start, and also include your contact details if they need to contact you to discuss anything or to clarify the aftercare process.

If there are retail products that you can either recommend to your clients, or products they can directly purchase from you then offer these at the end of the treatment.

Male Brazilian Waxing - The Protocols For Male Intimate Waxing Treatments

Male Brazilian Waxing – The Protocol for Male Intimate Waxing Treatments.

Today’s modern man is taking more pride in his appearance and body image and male waxing is one of the most popular male grooming treatments.

Whatever your reason the benefits of waxing rather than other hair removal methods is by far much greater; Hair re-growth is slower and finer, the skin is smoother, softer with better muscle definition, and generally waxing will offer a maintenance free period for about 6 weeks....

Male Brazilian waxing and male Hollywood waxing clients used to mainly consist of bodybuilders, swimmers, and models. However, the trend and fashion has changed and all types of men are now having intimate waxing treatments to satisfy their self-image for that extra ‘optical inch’ and a smoother clean look.

Male intimate waxing is known by many names ; Manscaping, back sac and crack, BSC, manzilian, male intimate waxing, men’s intimate waxing, the male Brazilian, men’s waxing, Sunga, extreme male waxing, Brozilian, Boyzilian, Guyzilian, Boykini, male Hollywood waxing, Californian waxing…

On arrival clients should be asked to complete a consultation form, this form should have a list which clients should tick if applicable and include a client declaration that the procedure has been explained to them. The purpose of the consultation form is to ensure that there are no medical conditions that are contraindicated, or could affect the way the treatment is carried out, and that it is safe to proceed as planned.

Clients should feel relaxed and have the opportunity to ask any questions prior to the treatment commences.

Following the consultation the client should be left alone in the treatment room, and be given the opportunity to freshen up with some intimate wipes, and the client should be advised how they are expected to lie on the couch, and which items of clothing they should remove and what they should keep on. A small towel should be left with the client so they can cover themselves.

Once the therapist returns to the room, the treatment should commence.

At this stage the client should confirm exactly how much hair they want removed, which areas they want waxed and any particular requirements they may have regarding the hair removal.

With so many names and variations of male Brazilian waxing it is always a good idea to clarify the requirements so that both parties are clear as to what will happen.

The therapist should explain how they will perform the treatment, where they will begin, and the types of waxes that will be applied to the particular areas. Test patching and a wax temperature test should also be applied. If the client will be expected to assist in the treatment then this is the best opportunity to explain this to the client, and it’s always a good ideas to practice the stretch so the client will know what is expected of them. It might be too late to try and explain the stretch when you have a spatula with hot wax on the end of it!! More importantly the client’s needs to know why they should stretch the skin and that the taut skin makes the waxing procedure so much more comfortable.

So once the treatment has been explained and both the therapist and the client know what is going to be carried out its time to start:

Longer hair should ideally be trimmed or clipped back so that the waxing is comfortable and that the waxing application is smooth without long hair being matted in the wax. Loose hair should be removed.

Using a suitable sansitiser, the skin should be cleansed.

Then a fine application of jasmine oil should be applied to the area. The oil will act as a barrier and will ensure that the wax will cling to the hairs and not to the skin, making the removal more comfortable. Also the oil will moisturise the skin. If too much oil is applied the wax will slide about so it’s best to gently blot away any excess with a tissue.

Now for the wax... depending on the type of waxing, i.e. Male Brazilian or Male Hollywood waxing then the treatment may start with the complete removal or the trimming and shaping of the mons pubis area. Most male intimate waxing will include the penis and scrotum waxing, the bikini line (or Speedo line as it’s often referred to for male waxing), the butt and the cleavage may also be included in the treatment.

For intimate waxing it should be carried out with non strip waxes, as the skin in these areas include a lot of soft tissue then the non strip method is much more suitable as the wax does not cling to the skin, and no pressure is applied to these areas.

As a client you need to research your waxing therapist and be sure that the methods applied will be suitable for you. The only area with a male intimate waxing treatment that strip waxing is suitable for is the butt cheeks, otherwise the whole treatment should be carried out with non strip waxes.

Each therapist has their own technique and their individual style of waxing. The ultimate aim of any therapist will be to perform the most comfortable waxing experience , using the best quality waxes, the quickest and the best hair removal methods to achieve the best result and for total customer satisfaction.

Clients with sensitive skin and those clients should also check with their therapist that a range of products suitable for their skin type will be available and used for the treatment. With more and more companies providing a range of hypoallergenic waxing products these should be readily available as a treatment option.

So once the waxing treatment has been completed then the areas should be cleansed, a fine application of jasmine oil will remove any residual wax that may be remaining on the skin. The oil should be removed with a suitable sanitiser and then a refreshing gel or aloe Vera should be applied to complete the treatment.

During the treatment is the best opportunity to discuss aftercare guidelines and the best practice for the client to try to ensure that the skin is kept clean and clear and to avoid any break outs and to avoid any ingrown hairs after the treatment.

Written follow up guidelines should be also given in the form of a leaflet, this allows the client to read these guidelines following the waxing treatment.

Any aftercare packs which may include an exfoliating mitt or cloth with some suitable post waxing moisturising cream will be useful for the client, especially for first timers, until the client gets an opportunity to purchase their own aftercare product range.

The aftercare guidelines should explain the frequency, method and products for the exfoliation and moisturising.

Explain to the client what they should expect to feel over the next few hours/days and also that should they need to contact you to discuss anything post waxing the best way for them to contact the therapist.

Male Waxing Methods & Wax Brands

Waxing Techniques for Male Waxing Procedures

With so many therapists using different waxing systems, and application methods including so many different brands of wax available, I thought it would be helpful for clients to specify the type and methods I apply for my treatments. At the initial appointment you will complete a confidential medical form which will indicate any allergies or skin sensitivity issues and will determine the best wax to use for your treatment.

Brand – Perron Rigot wax

Considered one of the best waxes on the market.

With over thirty years of innovation in the industry and constantly developing new techniques and formulas to meet the evolving needs of the many therapists who use this product range.

With waxes to suit all client requirements offering the finest quality in depilatory care.

I use the following waxes for all my treatments:

Cristal Ocean – Hypoallergenic Strip Wax

• Cristal Ice – Hypoallergenic Strip Roller Wax

• Euroblonde – Non Strip Wax

• Cirepil Pure – Hypoallergenic Non Strip Wax

As a pre and post waxing for the cleansing and moisturising I also use the Perron Rigot brand, and I use the following products, also from the hypoallergenic range:

Eau de Cristal Lotion – Pre and Post Depilatory lotion

• Pearlescent oil – Pre and Post Depilatory Oil

To refresh and calm the skin after the waxing I use tea tree and natural aloe Vera based products.

Waxing Methods Applied –

General Body Waxing

This includes; back, chest, arms, legs, hands and feet

1. Longer hair is clippered first.

2. Pre waxing lotions/oils applied

3. Wax applied – Strip waxing methods

4. Pot & Spatula or a roller method

5. Neck hair or some chest areas is removed with non strip waxes as this is a sensitive area.

6. Post waxing Lotions /oils applied

7. After waxing gels/cream applied.

Intimate & Sensitive areas –

These areas includes: underarms, neck, throat, ears, nose, brows, penis, scrotum, bikini line, crack, pubic line.

These areas are not suitable for strip waxing methods, as the skin is more sensitive and the non strip method offers a better and less painful waxing procedure.

1. Longer hair trimmed & clippered first

2. Pre waxing lotions/oils applied

3. Wax applied – Non strip waxing methods

4. Post waxing lotions/oils applied

5. After waxing gels/creams applied

Free Aftercare/ Take Home Products

All clients will receive a free aftercare pack following all their treatments. New clients (virgin waxers) often have no experience of knowledge of the best way to maintain their new waxed body...

My pack includes a written aftercare list which gives all the guidelines including good practice advice.

A small pot or tube of a suitable moisturiser is also provided for use on the area that has been treated. A disposable exfoliating mitt is provided; these normally last a few weeks in the shower, as a starter until clients can purchase a more substantial exfoliating cloth or mitts.

I retail a range of Japanese wash cloth, after waxing creams and gels and some products designed specifically for ingrown hair treatment.

A Brazilian Wax by any other name...

A Brazilian wax by any other name...

With men’s waxing treatment becoming more and more popular, its often confusing knowing exactly what each of the intimate waxing treatment includes, we read online blogs and articles, magazine reviews and male grooming publications with so many names for these waxing treatments.

With therapists up and down the country all offering their own treatment list and trying to provide their own unique bespoke range of male grooming therapies clients need to understand the difference in the treatments.

One Salons version of a BSC wax may be different to another one....

As therapists we all aim to design a list that offers our clients a selection of treatments to cater for the individual needs from a simple bikini /speedo wax to a full male Hollywood waxing, we know what each treatment entails but often our new clients don’t...

However treatments vary from therapist to therapist and as a client it’s necessary to be clear that you book the treatment you want and that you know the difference in the treatments.

Male intimate waxing treatments are often known by many names; Brazilian waxing, Sunga waxing, Boyzilian waxing, Manscaping, Guyzilian, Brozilian.... there are so many different names used for the waxing procedures, and with trends changing probably many more new names to follow...

As appointments are generally timed and therapists normally know how much time they will require to carry out the treatment that the client has requested, then it’s really important to book the right one, as it may not be possible to extend your appointment time if you booked the wrong waxing and more time is required but not available as your therapist may be fully booked.

As a therapist I offer a flexible tariff for all the more popular waxing treatments, as I believe this offers flexibility for clients, and will ensure that those clients that carry out regular waxing or those clients with partial hair growth pay the lower prices for their treatment.

My treatment list clearly states what’s included within each of the treatments, and this has proven beneficial especially for male intimate waxing treatments. Clients know exactly what area is included and what the treatment is called and how much it will cost, so there will be no nasty surprises when they go to pay.

My most popular male intimate waxing treatment is the Brazilian wax, and most men know this term and generally most of them know exactly what areas of hair removal are included within this treatment.

My website will shortly be updated (November 2010) and as part of the update all the intimate waxing treatments will all be coded so that clients booking a treatment from their workplace etc can be more discrete. Often clients calling from shared offices or from their mobile while they are on the move don’t want the people around them to know they want to mow their lawn!

Waxing Aftercare -- Exfoliate Exfoliate Exfoliate!!

Male Waxing – General Aftercare for Exfoliation and Moisturising

At London male waxing in Islington, we discuss the best way to maintain your skin after your initial waxing appointment; especially if it’s your first waxing treatment then generally most people don’t really know the best ways to maintain freshly waxed skin and to try to avoid those after wax pimples (folliculitis) and ingrown hairs.

During my clients follow up treatments I check on the results and offer advice on methods and products used if clients are still having some problems and look other ways to treat the situation.

It’s generally only a very small number of clients who find it difficult to manage the problem.

I firmly believe that exfoliation and moisturisation is the secret to success with waxing aftercare....I have my own waxing carried out on a regular basis and from my own personal experiences if I follow the aftercare guidelines and do the regular exfoliation then it works....We do have to make the effort and follow the advice given to us... we brush and floss our teeth after dental treatments.. we wash and condition our hair after hairdressing appointments, we moisturise our skin after sunbathing and tanning sessions... so guys it’s no different after your waxing appointment....listen to the advice that we give you.

As therapists we often see clients who follow their guidelines and have great smooth skin... and equally from time to time we see clients that don’t follow the guidance and they can occasionally experience some problems.

There are different opinions on how to exfoliate, the frequency and what you should exfoliate with...

However with so many products to choose from, for general exfoliation including the best products for moisturising the skin it is often difficult making the right choice. This is where your therapist can help as they will have more knowledge, will maybe use the products themselves, but they usually get the feedback from other clients as to what works best.

With leading wax companies regularly updating their aftercare range and they all often claim to be the best in the market, you need to find a product that you can get hold of easily, something that suits your budget, (it’s not always necessary to spend a lot of money of good aftercare products), and also you want a product that suits your skin type and more importantly that it does what it says on the tin!!... You may need to initially use a few products to see what works best for you.
Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate!!!!!.. I really do believe that it works. But it needs to carried out correctly, you don’t want to scrub and exfoliate skin that’s tender or freshly waxed.

I always recommend that my waxing clients purchase a Japanese wash cloth, I use one and I get great results and the feedback from most of my clients is the same, I retail these and they are not expensive and they often last for many months. Just give it regular wash to remove the dead skin cells and keep it for your own personal use. Loofahs and mitts are also very good, but often we can’t reach all the body with these, but with the washcloth it’s like a small towel so you can hold either end and exfoliate the back really easily just like you are towel drying your skin.

In simple terms by exfoliating the skin we keep the area clean and soft and this means that new hair growth can break through the skin easily and in turn reduces the risk of ingrown hairs. If the skin is dry and lots of hard skin and not soft new hair follicles are soft and gentle and may not be able to get through the skin easily and can become ingrown and the area can become infected with spots and pimples. The hair regrowth will be at different stages and this will have an effect on your waxing programme as short hairs etc will not get picked with the wax... so by regular maintenance it does help in the long term...

In addition to the Japanese wash cloth I always recommend that clients use a good shower cream, something that contains some tea tree is ideal, and again there are many types of shower creams that can be purchased from your local pharmacies and supermarkets that should suit your skin.

Some clients find that using a exfoliating shower cream (with small abrasive particles , or crushed seeds etc) works also for them, and again there are a range of these available that help.

I use a body shop scrub that contains cocoa butter, and can personally recommend this, and sometime I make my own scrub using the cocoa butter one and adding a few drops of pure tea tree oil to this so as well as the benefit of the cocoa butter for the moisturisation I get the natural cleansing and antiseptic properties from tea tree.

Moisturisation... for me it’s like the exfoliation I believe it works.. There are lots of easy ways to moisturise and using a good shower or bath products that’s rich in moisturiser helps, but there are also a lot of good after waxing products that we can easily purchase. Your waxing studio or therapist should be able to offer some advice and or recommendations.

I retail a range of the Perron Rigot waxing aftercare, both in a cream or a gel range. I also retail some sterex products which are great products for soothing and moisturising the skin after hair removal methods. Again clients need to find a product that works for them...

As part of my aftercare plan with all my clients I provide written guidelines for new clients, which lists all the general aftercare guidelines, I give all clients a disposable exfoliating mitt, this is designed to get you started until you can purchase your own exfoliation product range and then I also give clients some creams for moisturising, depending on the area waxed as to the type of products I give clients. All these products can be purchased from me as a part of your maintenance aftercare programme.

I will shortly be expanding my aftercare range by retailing a range of tea tree waxing after care products, in addition to the product range I currently offer, and will have this on display in my studio with my other retail products.

I also currently stock PBF Vanish (Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae) for the treatment of ingrown hairs, which is one of the leading products proven to help exfoliate the skin cell and to “lift” the ingrown hairs above the skin lines. My clients who use this have given good feedback on this product and purchase this as part of their maintenance programme. This is also a good product for clients who use other methods of Manscaping, i.e. body shaving and may be prone to ingrown hairs. Whatever method of hair removal you carry out.. Waxing clippering or shaving just follow these guidelines and it should help...

I am happy to discuss any of this, and please feel free to contact me by email via my website.

Manscaping for Metrosexuals

Manscaping for Metrosexuals....

Over the last few years we have seen many changes in men’s fashions and trends...from clothing, hair styles, jewellery and more recently male grooming... In particular male waxing.

Just few years ago it was not common practice for men to use so many face care products, hair care ranges, and general body grooming products but how things have changed..Skin care suppliers have marketed exclusive product ranges for the male grooming industry..
In days gone by a few bottles of aftershave and some hair gel where the basic essentials of the average mans bathroom range... now we have pre and post shaving products, skin toners and moisturisers, eye creams and gels, hair waxes and a huge range of male hair care products, and that’s just in the bathroom cabinet, and not counting what’s inside the man bag!!.
With this we have seen the biggest area o change in male body grooming... hair removal for men. From the simple and popular male back wax, or a chest wax to the intimate male Brazilian waxing treatments. More and more men are following the trend, are de -fluffing... mowing their lawns... and acquiring the cool smooth look that has been favoured by celebrities like Beckham and Renaldo to name but a few.... Follow the waxing revolution at London Male Waxing.

Male waxing treatments used to be only for the bodybuilders, sportsmen’s and male models, now clients come from all walks of life from brokers and builders to lorry drivers and lollypop men... it’s an increasing trend that more and more men are following...

Male grooming therapists up and down the country have seen an increase in the number of male waxing treatments, with most of the leading wax companies launching their own brand of waxes suitable for the male market, with cool masculine wax colours and fragrances and a range of aftercare products that appeal to the male consumer.

At www.london-male-waxing.com , I provide an exclusive male grooming service from a luxury home therapy studio. No hustle and bustle of a busy salon, a dedicated treatment room with appointment times to suit.

As a consumer myself of body treatments I generally felt more comfortable in a private therapy studio rather than the busy salon environment, and for that reason when I set up my business in Islington, I found a good central position with good transport links, it’s essential that clients can get to you easily, and as its a 6 minute walk from either the Angel tube station (Northern line) , or Highbury & Islington (Victoria line)then it’s a perfect location. I offer appointments at times to suit, and have several late evening appointments to offer greater flexibility for clients.

My treatment room is spacious, clean bright and professionally laid out, the images on my website are pictures of my studio so you can see the environment that your treatment will be carried out in.

On your arrival I greet all clients with a warm and friendly welcome. Confidential client consultation forms need to be completed on your first visit, and just updated if things change on further appointments. For virgin waxers I take a little extra time to explain more about the process involved and to allow you to ask any questions etc...Appointments are offered daily and timed appointments ensure you get the treatment you require without delays or interruptions.

I only use two methods of waxing, strip waxing, and non strip waxing, and the waxes I use are part of the perron rigot wax product range.

Strip waxing is used for general body waxes, back, chest, arms and legs, with the non strip waxing methods used for the more sensitive areas.

The non strip waxes are applied directly to the hair with a spatula, and as the wax dries it shrink wraps the hair and when removed it is less painful as no pressure is applied to the areas with paper strips, the areas suitable for the non strip waxes are the intimate areas, underarms, neck /hairline, brows nostrils and ears... Non strip waxing is a more favourable hair removal method for coarse/dense hair areas, and is considered a much less painful waxing method.

At London Male Waxing studio I also retail a range of aftercare products suitable for your maintenance programme; these include Japanese wash cloths, sterex creams and witch hazel gels, PFB (ingrown hair gel) scrubs, and a range of perron rigot after waxing creams and gels. .

With all hair removal methods its essential we follow the basic principles of aftercare to help keep the clean smooth look.. Spots and ingrown hairs, which have been the fear of men for years, can often be avoided if clients follow good practice guidelines given to all my clients after their treatments.

I also provide every client with a free aftercare starter pack... So you will leave fully briefed and you know how to look after your new image... All insurance companies require us to provide aftercare advice for our clients.

So guys call it what you may.. Manscaping, male grooming, male waxing, male intimate waxing, or the infamous BSC waxing (back sack and crack) it’s all available as part of your body grooming treatments.

In addition to waxing for men, I also provide a range of body scrubs, facials, ear candling, massage therapies, clippering and body shaving services... so it’s a one stop with something for everyone.

Check out my website for details of the treatments, there is a PDF file which explains the booking process a bit better and includes link to a few websites that may answer some of those questions you have about waxing... Look forward to hearing from you at some point...

Skin Care Advice For Male Waxing Aftercare

London Male Waxing – The basic waxing principles of preparation and aftercare for all male waxing clients
More and more men are following the trend to have a clean smooth body image and a hair free look... from the classic and popular male back wax to the intimate male Brazilian waxing or male Hollywood waxing, all of these treatments are available.
For many years male Brazilian waxing clients consisted of bodybuilders, sportsmen, male models, however nowadays more and more men are having male intimate waxing to satisfy their self image, for the benefit of their partners, or to create that “optical inch “ .

The male Brazilian waxing leaves a small amount of pubic hair, often called a landing strip, and this can be styled to your individual choice with either waxing or clippered. The male Brazilian waxing treatment removes hair from the penis, scrotum, bikini line, the buttocks, including the cleavage and around the anus, leaving a clean smooth hair free area.

The male Hollywood waxing is exactly the same as the male Brazilian but all the pubic hair is removed including the hair on the lower stomach, for a completely smooth hair free finish.

As with all male waxing, the preparation of the skin before during and after is important and this will help to avoid ingrown hairs (follicultitis) as the new hair growth starts to appear.

• Step one – Pre Wax- Areas are cleansed using a sanitizer to remove excess oils and bacteria from the skin, and to lift the hair slightly to ensure easier waxing.

• Step two – During waxing – a light application of jasmine oil from Perron Rigot, this acts as a barrier between the wax and the skin to ensure a more painless and faster hair removal method. This will be applied to the skin under all types of waxes, either strip or non strip.

• Step three- after waxing – firstly a little jasmine oil is applied to remove any wax that remains on the skin, followed by some sanitizer to remove the oils and cleanse the skin. Depending on the areas that have been waxed different types of creams can be applied. I use an organic aloe vera gel, which is a natural product and also suitable moisturisers which contain vitamin B5, which helps to soothe the skin after waxing, and other hair removal methods.

• After care: Free aftercare packs will be given to all clients, these will include some body exfoliation, and some moisturiser, as well as good guidelines for how to manage your cleansing and body scrubs at home. During the first few weeks after any waxing good aftercare will be required to ensure your waxing is well maintained and to avoid folliculitis.

Perron Rigot have an amazing range of waxing aftercare products that offer protection from ingrown hairs, soothing and rehydration and more recently a range which helps to minimise hair regrowth.
